Donna Obeid was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She earned a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Michigan and both an M.F.A. in Creative Writing and M.A. in Teaching with honors from American University where she was awarded an adjunct fellowship. The two years she spent as a visiting scholar in northern Thailand inspired her first published short story, Once. She is the recipient of a Raymond Carver Short Story Award from Carve Magazine, a Seventeen fiction prize and a Stanford staff photography award. For more than ten years, Donna has designed, developed and facilitated customized learning programs. She currently serves as Associate Director of Programs for Executive Education at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
